What’s Happening?
Garage 66 has withdrawn its No. 66 Ford from this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway, citing a lack of sponsorship.
Unfortunately Carl had to make the call to withdraw Garage 66 from this weekend's race at Chicagoland due to lack of sponsorship.

We are sad to miss out on NASCAR's July 4th weekend, but we look forward to the No. 66 returning very soon! #NASCAR pic.twitter.com/NmimbVDSF9
- The team, owned by former long-time driver Carl Long, was initially slated to enter the race with driver Josh Bilicki, his second race of 2026, and Garage 66’s first race since May. Prior to this announcement, the team was publicly looking for a primary sponsor on Social media.
- Though the team is out for this race, according to them, this will not be a continuing issue. In their post announcing their withdrawal, the team added, “We look forward to the No. 66 returning very soon!” though they have no other announced races scheduled as of press time.
- Their withdrawal from the race shrinks this weekend’s Cup Series field down to just 38 cars, with 23XI Racing’s Corey Heim and NY Racing Team’s J.J. Yeley as the only open entries. The previously touted 39 cars would have been the fifth time this season a race had 39 or more entries.
- So far this season, Garage 66 has made every race it has entered, including the Daytona 500 and the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega, both of which had over 40 entries. In their most recent outing at Nashville, the team tied its best finish of the season, coming home 28th with driver Chad Finchum.
