What’s Happening?
BJ McLeod and his team, Live Fast Motorsports, confirmed their return to NASCAR Cup Series action for 2025 Thursday via X. Last season, the No. 78 stepped back to a part-time schedule, something they will continue in 2025.
- Live Fast Motorsports and BJ will enter seven NASCAR Cup Series races in 2025. This schedule includes the four superspeedway races at Daytona and Talladega, the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, and both races at Atlanta.
- Last season, LFM and BJ entered five races, with the team scoring their best finish of 19th at the Daytona Night Race. The team also managed to lead a team-record five laps at Talladega in April.
- Live Fast Motorsports was formed in 2021 when Mcleod and former driver Matt Tifft purchased a Charter from shuttering Go Fas Racing. After three full-time seasons, the team sold that Charter to Spire Motorsports ahead of the 2024 season; Spire used this Charter for the No. 71.
NASCAR fans like BJ McLeod and his team as they represent true underdogs at NASCAR’s top level. For the most part, drivers seem to like BJ in the garage area and on the track.
Live Fast will be one of just a handful of “open” or unchartered cars to attempt part-time races in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season.
