What’s Happening?
With his presence in the world of NASCAR continuing to grow, YouTube star Cleetus McFarland revealed a stacked cast of NASCAR regulars and veterans for his upcoming New England 900 race during a recent podcast episode.
Alongside his efforts in racing in NASCAR, YouTuber Cleetus McFarland, whose real name is Garrett Mitchell, has continued to host his own series of All-Star oval races with a fleet of nitrous-equipped Ford Crown Victorias.
For his next event, dubbed the New England 900, scheduled for July 18 at Stafford Speedway, Mitchell officially revealed the roster of drivers and personalities during the latest episode of his podcast Bald Eagles.
As Mitchell worked through the entry list, he revealed that the field will feature rising NASCAR prospect Jesse Love, who recently appeared in McFarland’s drag-racing crossover at zMAX Dragway. The lineup will also include internet figures such as Squirrel McNutt, Tyron, Tyler Wheeler, Zack Walker, Booster Boy Kyle, and Richard Childress Racing Crew Chief “Downforce” Danny Stockman.
Alongside these names are some other notable NASCAR and ARCA regulars like RFK Racing’s Ryan Preece, Bobby Dale Earnhardt, and the biggest surprise of all, Richard Childress Racing owner Richard Childress.
The crew also revisited how Preece previously ruled the roost at Stafford, while joking about his stretch of survival-mode NASCAR racing after walking away from crashes, including a fireball wreck.
Mitchell also hinted that the entry list may still have room to grow, noting that Ty and Austin Dillon were also expected to join, although their names had yet to appear on the sheet officially.
What Happened During the 2025 Edition?
Last year, Ryan Preece entered the event and walked away with the victory, while Greg Biffle crossed the line in second. For his part, Mitchell ended the race in 19th place after surviving the storm.
Through nitrous strategy, tire management, and outright racecraft, the fight for victory narrowed to Preece and Biffle. The lead swapped hands repeatedly, nearly half a dozen times, during the closing laps before Preece came on top.
Day Two shifted focus toward tire destruction during the Burnout Rivals competition. The Open class launched proceedings with a collection of builds and driving styles, most of which were powered by LS engines.
The intensity climbed another notch once the Rivals class hit the burnout pad, as McFarland, his crew, and invited guests fought for bragging rights and a bald eagle trophy.
Prize money was a big thing in the Pro class, where Australia’s Heath Waddington drove the WAR-BIRD XP Falcon to victory and carried home the prize.
