What’s Happening?
iRacing’s 2025 season three update has finally arrived, and the updates, upgrades, and new additions have NASCAR fans’ excitement through the roof.
- The marquee addition for the season three update is, hands down, the addition of two NASCAR Gen Four race cars. These cars were used from 1992 to 2007 before being fully replaced by the Car of Tomorrow in 2008.
- While fans are excited to get behind the wheel and hear their X-pipe exhaust, iRacing unfortunately only has the Chevrolet Monte Carlo and the Ford Taurus available. This means fan favorites from the time, including the Toyota Camry, Pontiac Grand Prix, and Dodge, are not available.
- The second major NASCAR change is more refreshed tracks. iRacing has been promoting refreshing their tracks for the past two updates. iRacing’s Track Art Team updated the art for seven NASCAR tracks in the season two update and added 12 more to the list for the season three update.
- The refreshes include updates in sponsorships, paint, and even features. Some refreshes even go as far as to update the scan of the track, affecting the way it races and feels. While these track refreshes may seem like a small addition, iRacing Executive Vice President Steve Myers confirmed in March that these will be used in the new NASCAR Console game.
