Formula 1 has been on the rise in the United States since the start of the decade. With three races in America, many would assume the sport would embrace its new footing in the States with new drivers and new teams. Elly Productions dives into the reality of the situation, where F1 seems to not care about American drivers and teams, but American dollars.

  • Liberty Media bought Formula 1 with the intention of improving its presence in the United States. With Netflix releasing the F1 documentary Drive to Survive, it caused F1’s popularity to explode in the U.S., finally giving Formula 1 the foothold in America it was looking for.
  • Elly breaks down the elitism that F1 has shown since its boom in popularity. With F1 teams increasing in value by over 200% in the past decade, the sport has reared its ugly side when it comes to what F1 is doing with the money.
  • While some things such as pay drivers and the denial of Colton Herta’s super license seem par for the course, there are some actions, such as the entire construction of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and Andretti Global’s rejection into Formula 1 that Elly explains what truly makes F1 showcase its elitism.
