MATT NIEHAUS

That guy you’ve seen on TikTok talking about cars going right and sometimes left.

NASCAR brought back the traditional Food City 500 at Bristol over the weekend, but, to do that, they sacrificed the Bristol dirt race. Once again, no dirt races are on the Cup Series schedule, and Brakehard gives his opinion on whether or not NASCAR needs a dirt race.

  • Bristol’s race on concrete in 2023 saw a higher TV rating than the dirt races. Does this mean that NASCAR should abandon dirt?
  • Brakehard gives his thoughts on why he feels that stock cars do not belong on dirt. He looks specifically at lead changes.
  • However, Brakehard also looks at how an argument could be made for a dirt race. What did Bristol Dirt do wrong that NASCAR could fix?

Will NASCAR ever go back to racing on dirt? Let Brakehard know your thoughts in the comments and be sure to subscribe for the latest NASCAR news and updates.
