Did Trackhouse Lose a Major Sponsor Ahead of 2026?

What’s Happening?

With just 27 days until the NASCAR Cup Series takes on the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, race fans are noticing that one major sponsor is missing from Trackhouse Racing’s website.

The 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season is set to be a major year for Trackhouse Racing, one that will have to back up a successful and consequential 2025 season.

Despite a team single-season record of six wins, the 2025 season felt like a transitional year for the team, due to several moves that established a long-term plan for the team’s future.

The team started 2025 by bringing on Shane van Gisbergen to drive their new third full-time car, the No. 88, then Trackhouse announced for 2026 that they were moving on from long-time driver Daniel Suarez for prospect Connor Zilisch.

The moves didn’t stop there, with the team signing SVG to a long-term contract extension to complement the one given to Ross Chastain in 2023. The team also reshaped its on-track brand, moving Zilisch into the No. 88, and bringing in the No. 97 as van Gisbergen’s new number.

Now, just a few weeks from the first green flag of the new year, it seems that more changes are on the horizon, as NASCAR fans have picked up that a key sponsor may be out of their rotation for 2026.

The Weathertech Blues

Around this time of year, most rosters are set in stone, teams are settled with their new manufacturers, and the schedule is fully lined out, meaning that NASCAR fans find themselves digging for any new information about the upcoming season.

About once a year, someone goes to a race team’s website, looks at their sponsors, and notices one is missing.

Last year, the “honor” fell to Joe Gibbs Racing, when fans saw that Denny Hamlin’s former sponsor, Mavis Tire & Brakes, was missing from the team’s Partners webpage in early January 2025. As featured in the article linked below, the fan base was the first to hone in on this missing sponsor.

In 2026, the search for such missing sponsors has already had a major find, with race fans in the online NASCAR community noticing that WeatherTech is no longer listed in the sponsor section on Trackhouse Racing’s website.

While losing a sponsor is always a major issue for any team, and their departure is yet to be confirmed, the potential loss of WeatherTech would be a huge development for Trackhouse.

Since joining the team in 2024, WeatherTech has sponsored either a Trackhouse driver or Trackhouse-affiliated driver in 23 NASCAR Cup Series races and 40 NASCAR Xfinity Series races.

The brand’s action in NASCAR even went beyond Trackhouse, as WeatherTech served as one of the base sponsors in the NASCAR 25 console game’s custom car creator.

So, what do we know, and if WeatherTech is out at Trackhouse, what does the team do now?

What if WeatherTech is Gone?

Beyond the team and sponsor’s deep relationship, the thought of WeatherTech and Trackhouse parting ways is even more surprising, as WeatherTech was heavily featured on the 2026 Red Bull paint schemes and firesuits for both Connor Zillisch and Shane van Gisbergen when Trackhouse unveiled them in late November.

Of course, the possibility of such an abrupt change has already been met with rampant speculation from fans regarding details of a potential falling out between the two. However, as of press time, none of these rumors has been backed up with any substantial evidence.

Nonetheless, if the brand is gone, it might be easy to dwell on the loss of WeatherTech, but, much like JGR in 2025, Trackhouse must now turn its attention to filling out any potential lost sponsorship for the coming year.

For one, the team has already somewhat achieved this with Red Bull, which is expanding its Cup Series sponsorship of SVG and Zilisch from nine races in 2025 to 25 across the 2026 season.

It is worth noting that this increase of 18 races is one more than the number of races that WeatherTech sponsored SVG in 2025, though that does not factor in Zilisch, whom Red Bull planned to sponsor in three races last season, alongside the loss of sponsors like Freeway Insurance and Coca-Cola, who followed Daniel Suarez to Spire Motorsports.

Even though they have seemingly mended a large portion of this gap, it could take some time for Trackhouse to find a replacement if WeatherTech is truly gone.

In 2025, Joe Gibbs Racing did not announce a replacement for sponsor FedEx until mid-March, when Progressive stepped up to sponsor the No. 11.

Regardless, while it would be sad to see a dedicated sponsor like WeatherTech leave the sport, changes like this are just part of modern NASCAR, and by this time in 2027, race fans will likely be having this same conversation about another sponsor at a different race team.
