What’s Happening?

NASCAR fans have their first look at the NASCAR team paint schemes that will be available in the upcoming release of NASCAR Next Gen Cars in Fortnite.

In March, data miners revealed that Fortnite had added the files for three NASCAR Next Gen Cars to the game’s files via an update. While the cars are not yet out, the Cup Series Chevrolet ZL1 paint schemes are the latest leak.

In a video uploaded to YouTube, user Fortnite Soul showed off the Chevrolet’s ten official NASCAR team-themed paint schemes.

As of now, the Chevrolet is the only car with known paint schemes, but these do give fans an idea of what to expect for the Toyota Camry and Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

These paint schemes are not of official cars; instead, they are similar to testing schemes showing the team’s logos.

The teams included are the majority of Cup Series Chevrolet teams, which include Hyak Motorsports, Hendrick Motorsports, Trackhouse Racing, Richard Childress Racing, and the Haas Factory team.

Alongside a generic ZL1 paint scheme, the game also features some odd additions, like part-time Chevrolet Cup Series teams Team Amerivet and JR Motorsports.

By far the oddest addition is NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series team Joey Gase Motorsports, which, at least as of right now, has yet to field a Cup Series team. Notable exclusions of part-time organizations include Beard Motorsports, Live Fast Motorsports, and the NY Racing Team.

There are full-time exclusions like Rick Ware Racing, Kaulig Racing (which no longer has factory support), and Spire Motorsports, though they could be added, as this is far from an official look at the cars.

Fans are already preparing to use the cars in-game on custom-built tracks that reflect real NASCAR Cup Series venues like Circuit of the Americas and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

These users are using the previous Camaro Next Gen released into Fortnite’s sister game, Rocket League, in 2022 to show off the tracks, with the new ZL1 expected to hit the game soon.
