What’s Happening?
For the second week in a row, someone has dominated the Cup Series race, but this time, the outcome was a little bit different, the same cannot be said about the winner, however. Amidst throwback week significance talks and iconic paint schemes hitting the track, the racing product on Sunday was to be discussed, and with that, find out what Eric Estepp thinks by watching this episode of the Groovy Gauge presented by Lectric eBikes.
Groovy Gauge Score: 60%
- Despite domination at the front, Eric believes the racing from 2nd on back was good, but since the lead was never really challenged until 6 to go, the race quality takes a big hit.
- Tire strategies had a crucial role in the race, providing comers and goers that improved the racing
- The results were decided by the final pit stop, which Eric feels was a “big plot twist” that changed the entire “movie.”
- Clean air is “too important” and that was shown at Darlington. Upcoming intermediates such as Kansas and Charlotte, known for being the best tracks in the Next-Gen era, should be interesting to watch and see if they will be more similar to their previous races or to this year’s intermediates.
