What’s Happening?

NASCAR Cup Series veteran Daniel Suárez is set to make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series return next weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.

  • Suárez will drive a third truck, the no. 71 for his Cup Series team, Spire Motorsports. His entry marks Suárez’s first in the truck series since 2021, and only his second since 2016.
  • This race also marks the return of the No. 71 to Spire’s Truck Series after the team slimmed down its lineup this past season/off-season. Prior to that, driver Rajah Caruth piloted the truck to two wins in 2024 and 2025.
  • In 28 career starts in the Truck Series, Suárez has one win, ten top fives, and 16 top tens. He has just two starts in the series at Bristol, both with Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2015 and 2016; in both starts, Suárez has failed to finish the race.
  • Suárez joins his Spire Cup Series teammates in the rotating roster of truck Series drivers for the team this season. That roster has also included non-Spire drivers like IndyCar veteran James Hinchcliffe, road course ace Connor Mosack, and JR Motorsports NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver Sammy Smith.
