- The 51-year-old NASCAR Hall of Famer returned to the CARS Tour this past weekend at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, where he finished 12th. Though, unless he adds another race to his calendar, he will have to wait sometime to get back behind the wheel as the race at Newport is scheduled for October 3.
- While he could likely add another start to his schedule before year’s end, or even another outside of the CARS Tour, two races would slim down his schedule from 2025. Last season, Earnhardt made four starts in the CARS Tour, down from five total late model starts in 2024.
- Earnhardt, who retired from full-time racing at the conclusion of the 2017 season, has occasionally made starts in the CARS Tour and other late model series since late 2022. In his 16 starts since his return in 2022, though, that first race, a third-place finish at North Wilkesboro, remains his best finish of this stretch.
- Though Earnhardt continues to race part-time in late models, many NASCAR fans are wondering if he will ever return to NASCAR. After making eight starts in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series from 2018 to 2024, the second-generation driver has not made plans to make another NASCAR start since his last race at Bristol in 2024.
