- McFarland, who ARCA and NASCAR score under his legal name Garrett Mitchell, scored the pole, posting a 38.987 lap at 184.677 MPH at Michigan International Speedway. The 31-year-old outpaced outside pole sitter Jake Bollman by just 0.025 seconds.
- Previously, Mitchell’s best start came from the fifth position at Daytona International Speedway early this season. It is worth noting that Mitchell is doing this in his first-ever start in any series at Michigan.
- This is also the third time this season Mitchell plans to pull double duty, racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Niece Motorsports Saturday afternoon. He previously did so at Daytona and Rockingham in the early portions of the new year.
- The green flag for Saturday’s ARCA Menards Series Henry Ford Health 200 is scheduled for 5:00 PM ET with live coverage available on FS2 and MRN Radio.
