What’s Happening?
In a recent video discussing NASCAR’s decision not to grant him eligibility to enter the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Talladega, YouTube star Cleetus McFarland teased the possibility of adding more Truck Series races to his 2026 schedule.
Cleetus McFarland, whose real name is Garrett Mitchell, stayed out of the spotlight during his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut at Rockingham Speedway this past weekend.
While the 30-year-old brought his Richard Childress Racing machine home with a mostly clean nose, NASCAR did not see enough to approve him for the upcoming NASCAR OAP Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.
In a video shared to social media, Mitchell explained NASCAR’s stance, saying that the sport needs to see him behind the wheel in the ARCA Menards and Craftsman Truck Series before taking on such a lofty challenge.
During this video, Mitchell also mentioned that he is fully approved for trucks, no matter what track, hinting that he could add another race to his Truck Series 2026 schedule.

While it is unclear what Truck Series races he could enter, it is worth pointing out that Mitchell has already released his ARCA schedule; one of those races on his ARCA schedule, the June 5 race at Michigan International Speedway, shares a race weekend with the Truck Series.

Mitchell in ARCA and Trucks
No matter where he races, Mitchell adding more Truck races to his calendar will likely be a welcome sight for the fanbase, as many, including himself, have suggested he needs more all-around time behind the wheel before stepping up to the next level.
So far, Mitchell has experience in ARCA, racing towards the front of the field in his career in five starts, and scoring a top five in his ARCA East debut at Rockingham.
Unfortunately, Mitchell has little time behind the wheel of a Truck, making his debut earlier this season at Daytona after testing his way into the field.
Prior to this race, fans were cautious of Mitchell after he lost control of his truck during his test at Rockingham. These suspicions were well placed, as just a few laps into his Truck debut, Mitchell spun himself out, ending his day early.
