What’s Happening?
Tuesday, NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Preece shared that he and his RFK Racing NASCAR Cup Series teammates met YouTube star turned driver Cleetus McFarland for Crown Vic action at Talladega.
When I made it as a cup driver, I didn’t think one of the highlights of my career would be pushing Cleetus McFarland, BK & CB to 159 mph in crown vics at DEGA!

- The video, posted to Preece’s X account, shows four Crown Vics drafting together around Talladega Superspeedway. Shortly after, McFarland, whose real name is Garrett Mitchell, shared a group picture of the four drivers on Facebook captioned, “Living the dream!”
- The reason, if any, behind this get-together is unknown as of press time, as Preece and Mitchell are the only two from the group to post about it on their social media. Earlier this season, Mitchell was seen driving one of his Crown Vics around Daytona, drafting with a driver, later revealed as Travis Pastrana, for a promotional video.
- Of course, this collaboration has already led to some minor online speculation of some form of relationship between the two parties. Nonetheless, Mitchell is currently signed on a part-time developmental deal with Richard Childress Racing.
- As part of his developmental deal, Mitchell will race in three NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races a year. His series debut is planned for next weekend at Rockingham Speedway, and, pending approval from NASCAR, the 30-year-old plans to race at Talladega later next month.
