What’s Happening?

YouTube star turned NASCAR driver Cleetus McFarland is launching a new Late Model racing series with an upcoming debut race at historic Berlin Raceway.

As the 2026 NASCAR season has pushed on, Garrett Mitchell, who is best known by his internet persona Cleetus McFarland, has continued to infuse himself in the world of stock car racing.

Not only is the 31-year-old racing across different levels of the ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR National Series, but he has often expressed interest in racing at the grassroots level to get as much seat time as possible.

Now, alongside his own series of touring Crown Vic races, Mitchell is expanding his opportunities to race in Late Models by hosting his own late model series dubbed the “Cleetus McFarland Late Model Series.”

The Freedom Factory announced on Wednesday that the series’ first race will take place on August 15 at Michigan’s 0.438-mile Berlin Raceway, with registration open to all late model drivers.

Per the announcement, the race will be 75 laps and pay $20,000 to win, and tech will be done under UARA rules. The first event will also piggyback off Mitchell’s Michigan 100 Crown Vic Race and a Burnout Rivals burnout competition.

As of press time, Mitchell has yet to announce a second event for the Cleetus McFarland Late Model Series.
