What’s Happening?

Reigning NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champion Crew Chief Scott Zipadelli will miss the season-opening Fresh From Florida 250 due to a recent injury.

  • Zipadelli’s team, TRICON Garage, made the announcement this morning, citing that the undisclosed injury rendered the veteran Crew Chief unable to travel to Daytona. In his absence, David Stewart will take over duties for the No. 11 team.
  • Though this is just a small moment at the start of the season, Zipadelli’s absence overshadows what was set to be the first race for one of the Craftsman Truck Series’ most exciting new pairings of Crew Chief and driver.
  • Last season, as Crew Chief for eventual NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champion Corey Heim, Zipadelli’s team dominated the series, setting a new series record with 12 wins. This year capped off an incredible three-year run for the duo, in which they have won 21 of TRICON’s 22 total wins since 2023.
  • With Heim out of his full-time duties at TRICON, the team has brought in Kaden Honeycutt to pilot the team’s No. 11 this season. Honeycutt made a solid run at dashing Honeycutt and Zipadelli’s title hopes last season, all while racing for three different teams.
