What’s Happening?
The ARCA Menards Series garage saw another round of penalties this week, with Nitro Motorsports teammates Jake Bollman and Thomas Annunziata both docked points following post-race inspection at Berlin Raceway.
According to ARCA’s latest report, officials found both the No. 20 and No. 70 entries in violation of Section 20C-10.6 of the 2026 rulebook, which governs rear axle camber specifications.
The stiffer penalty was issued to the No. 20 team. Crew Chief Doug George was slapped with a $1,500 fine and placed on probation through Dec. 31 after inspectors discovered the car was out of compliance.
George’s latest infraction marks his second rule violation this season. In addition, driver Jake Bollman and owner Joe Tovo were also penalized with the loss of 12 championship points, along with applicable special awards points.
Interestingly, Nitro Motorsports’ No. 70 team received a lesser sanction for the same infraction. Crew chief Shannon Rursch was fined $750 and placed on probation through the end of the year, while driver Thomas Annunziata and owner Nick Tucker lost six championship points and the corresponding special awards points.
In hindsight, the Herr’s Snacks 200 penalties continue a worrying recent trend of technical infractions in the ARCA Menards Series.
Just one week earlier, ARCA penalized the No. 28 team following the June 12 event at Pocono Raceway.
Crew chief Steven Dawson was fined $1,500 and placed on probation for the remainder of the 2026 season after the car failed inspection for violating Section 20C-12.8.1, which covers rear body height requirements. Consequently, driver Carson Brown and owner Mark Webb were each assessed a six-point deduction in the championship standings.
