The state of NASCAR gaming is not great at the moment. NASCAR 21: Ignition was a complete disaster, and no new officially licensed NASCAR game is arriving anytime soon. This is where NR – Studios come in.
They just released a brand new teaser trailer for a fan-made NASCAR game set in the world of Roblox. The game is NR Next-Era.
The game is set to be released in either November/December 2023. If that release window is not met, then NR – Studios plans on releasing it in January/February 2024.
This game is not set to be like traditional Roblox racing games. NR – Studios plans on implementing real life Cup, Xfinity, Truck, and ARCA Series drivers, a career mode, and much more.
Over the past few weeks they have been releasing different updates to the game as more and they have worked on it. They released a rendering of Auto Club Speedway, a ticker, and even a sample of a dirt track in Roblox.
According to their group page on Roblox, NR – Studios has produced multiple NASCAR related games on Roblox. The include games such as NASCAR Car of Tomorrow, NASCAR Scheme, and NASCAR Testing.
They are a small piece of the NASCAR Gaming Community that has tried their best to fill the void left by no main-line NASCAR game in recent years. This includes the massive community on iRacing, the NR2003 modding community, and the NASCAR Heat series modding community.
Could this be the best fan-made NASCAR video game on the market? Potentially, and there is definitely a need for something in NASCAR gaming.
