Monday night, Kyle Larson, following up his Sunday night win at the Capitani Classic, stormed into Southern Iowa Speedway, scoring yet another dirt win, this time in the Front Row Challenge.
But this victory came after a controversial late-race slide job on Ryan Timms that knocked the 2025 Knoxville Nationals winner out of contention for the win.
Still feeling the sting of defeat when the cameras caught up with him at Southern Iowa Speedway, Timms went ballistic on the reigning NASCAR Cup Series Champion with a viral takedown during his post-race interview.

During his interview, Timms called Larson a “piece of shit” and made it clear he was not willing to chalk the incident up to hard racing.
But, with the moment in the review mirror, Timms has now reeled in some of his harshest comments, acknowledging that his post-race reaction had gone too far. After taking time to process the incident, the Sprint Car racer told Kyle McFadden of FloRacing that he regrets how he handled the interview.
In particular, Timms recognized the difference between being angry about something that happened on the racetrack and personally attacking another driver afterward, saying, “After I had some time to think about it, I want to say that I shouldn’t have said what I did in the interview.”
Having led much of the race, Timms looked poised for a win before Larson, who started 11th but quickly found his way through the field, reached Timms. With momentum on his side, Larson took a shot to make what he thought was the winning move.
When Larson finally committed to the slide job with five laps remaining, the two cars made contact. Timms’ nose wing was knocked down, costing him track position. Thus allowing Larson to take control of the race.
For Timms, it was indeed a brutal way to lose a race he had controlled for so long. That said, he has since come to terms with the fact that the Hendrick Motorsports driver did not enter the corner intending to wreck him.
“Kyle’s a great racer and I know that wasn’t his intention going into the corner,” he added. “I was heated in the moment that I lost the race and took it out on him and acted unprofessional.”
For his part, Larson also acknowledged after the race that the move was not clean and admitted the contact was the result of a mistake. Even then, the Californian did make note of the fact that he believed he had to make the move when the opportunity presented itself.
