What’s Happening?

Brad Keselowski has finally provided the injury update that many NASCAR fans have been waiting to hear, and the latest news suggests the RFK Racing co-owner is steadily moving toward a complete recovery after overcoming one of the toughest setbacks of his career.

Keselowski recently shared a video on X from North Wilkesboro Speedway, giving fans a lap around the historic short track while reflecting on its unique layout.

As he drove around the track, he explained that modern racetracks are no longer built like North Wilkesboro, noting that the two ends require completely different driving styles.

He highlighted the bump and downhill transition entering one corner, the preferred high line through one end, and the low groove through the other, reminding fans just how technical the old-school oval remains.

While the video itself focused on the racetrack, one fan asked the question many had been wondering for months: “How’s your leg Brad?”

Keselowski suffered an injury in mid-December 2025 when he slipped on ice during a family ski vacation, breaking his right femur.

Keselowsk, responding to the fan, noted that his recovery is right on track, “Doing really well, getting this question a lot so I’ll answer here. My nerves have started to reconnect and now I’m beginning to fully walk again. Lots of progress over last 3 weeks. Feels like 100% recovery will be possible.”

This is good news, as when reports first surfaced about the fracture ahead of this season, fans were shocked to learn it was so severe that he required surgery just months before the season opener at Daytona.

Determined to return, however, the 2012 Cup Series champion committed himself to an intensive rehabilitation program that reportedly lasted six hours a day.

Although the injury forced him to miss the preseason Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, where Corey LaJoie filled in behind the wheel of the No. 6 Ford, Keselowski recovered quickly enough to receive medical clearance before the Daytona 500.

He arrived at Daytona International Speedway using a branded walking cane, but once the helmet went on, he proved he could still compete at the highest level by finishing inside the top five.

His recovery has continued throughout the 2026 season. Despite acknowledging that certain tracks, particularly road courses, present additional physical challenges because of the strain placed on his injured leg, Keselowski has remained committed to running the full Cup Series schedule.

Along the way, he has delivered competitive performances, including a runner-up finish at Darlington, where he also led 142 laps.

In fact, he is now beginning to walk normally again and has made substantial progress.

While he stopped short of putting a timeline on reaching that point, the veteran driver now appears firmly on course to make a full recovery after fighting through surgery.
