What’s Happening?

Carson Hocevar’s NASCAR journey began amid a string of controversies, starting in the Truck Series and continuing into the Cup Series. He ruffled plenty of feathers by racing with an elbows-out approach against both peers and rivals. Above all, Hocevar refused to apologize for his on-track actions, insisting that he wanted to remain authentic instead of offering apologies for moves he made on purpose during competition.

Even so, he has built a fan following that gathered momentum even before he bagged his first Cup Series win at Talladega Superspeedway, where his celebration drew comparisons with Dale Earnhardt’s iconic post-race moment.

Along the way, Hocevar has raced under a range of paint schemes, many of which have already found a place in Lionel Racing’s pre-order catalog as collectible die-cast models. So far this season, Lionel Racing has released six die-casts based on Hocevar’s NASCAR entries, with each model available in both 1:64 and 1:24 scales.

NASCAR Cup Series

Chili’s Throwback “Marg Machine”

At Darlington Raceway, Hocevar paid tribute to Dale Earnhardt’s 1981 paint scheme with the Chili’s “Marg Machine” throwback entry, which is available in die-cast version as well.

Spectrum

Hocevar has driven the Spectrum-sponsored No. 77 Chevrolet Camaro in the Daytona 500, San Diego, Watkins Glen International, Bristol, and EchoPark Speedway. Spectrum is scheduled to sponsor Hocevar in 13 races during the 2026 season.

Dente Talladega Win

Hocevar drove the Dente Black No. 77 Chevrolet at Talladega, where he broke through for his first NASCAR Cup Series victory.

MINER

The MINER paint scheme returned to Hocevar’s No. 77 Chevrolet for the March 8 race at Phoenix, the May 17 NASCAR All-Star Race at Dover Motor Speedway, and is also slated to appear in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on Aug. 29.

Zeigler Auto Group

Carson Hocevar has driven the No. 77 Zeigler Auto Group Chevrolet in multiple NASCAR Cup Series events, including The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, Michigan, and Pocono. He is also scheduled to take the Zeigler-backed car at Chicagoland, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Iowa, Richmond, Bristol, Kansas, and Martinsville.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series

Chili’s Texas Win

Hocevar also made nine starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. His win at Texas came behind the wheel of the No. 77 Chili’s-sponsored truck, which has also been released as a collectible die-cast model.
