What’s Happening?
The first checkered flag of this Easter Weekend of NASCAR events is officially in the books. What is quickly becoming an Easter tradition, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series took to the historic Rockingham Speedway on Good Friday for what was sure to be a wild and thrilling race. But even with a lot of new faces in different places this NCTS season, it was same old same old for Corey Heim and his Tricon team.
Heim, who struggled at Darlington in the team’s No. 5 truck but still managed to win, asserted himself as the clear favorite early on, this time in the No. 1 Toyota for the team, sweeping the stages in the process. Additionally, he led the most laps on the day at 178 on his way to his 25th career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win.

Post-Race Report
- Though Tanner Gray made a play for the lead early on, it didn’t take long for 2025 Truck Series Champion Corey Heim to race his way to the lead. Starting in the 7th position, he made quick work of the competition and went on to win the opening stage uncontested, leading the most laps throughout the entire race.
- To start Stage 2, again, Heim got off to a slow start as Grant Enfinger, receiving a great push from Ty Majeski, shot out to the lead. But as the tires of the No. 1 Toyota warmed up and Heim got into a groove, he retook the lead and went on to sweep the stages. This marked the 45th stage win of Heim’s career.
- The top stage points earners for the Black’s Tire 200 at Rockingham are: Ty Majeski (18), Kaden Honeycutt (16), Layne Riggs (14), Tanner Gray (11), Cole Butcher (7), Grant Enfinger (6), Jake Garcia (5), Stewart Friesen (4), Daniel Hemric (3), and Gio Ruggiero (2).
- The first caution for an on-track incident came on Lap 61 as Adam Andretti got into the wall, ending his day. Branden Queen, who was flirting with the top 10, also slapped the outside wall in Stage 2 but was able to continue. The second caution for a late race incident came on Lap 166 as Michael Christopher Jr., driving the second truck for Stewart Friesen, the No. 62, spun and got into the wall during a cycle of green flag pit stops.
- After a miserable day for the Spire duo, Carson Hocevar exited the race early after suffering a mechanical failure. Meanwhile, his teammate Sammy Smith described his truck as “undriveable”. Still, he powered back for a top 15 finish.
- After a late race caution, the race restarted with 28 laps to go, with Corey Heim in the lead and Kaden Honeycutt restarting to his outside. The only time Heim has been passed all race long was on restarts. But this time, Heim rocketed out front effortlessly, reclaiming the race lead with his replacement/teammate, Kaden Honeycutt, in second. But Heim wasn’t able to run away with the lead initially like he did early in the race. Hot on his heels, Honeycutt remained a threat for Heim in the closing laps of this race.
- In a dog fight of a finish between teammates, Kaden Honeycutt was there multiple times. But with Heim’s experience leading and being up front, and with lap traffic becoming a factor, not to mention a right front going down on the No. 1 truck, Corey Heim went on to win the race. This marks the 25th win of his career and his second this year in the Triple Truck Challenge. Heim wins a $100,000 bonus.
- Kaden Honeycutt clocked the Xfinity Fastest Lap. This earned him 1 additional bonus point.
