Truck Series Driver Set to Miss Race Weekend After Watkins Glen Injury

What’s Happening?

NASCAR Truck Series team McAnally-Hilgemann Racing has withdrawn driver Jack Wood from tomorrow’s eero 250 at Richmond Raceway due to an injury suffered by the driver during last weekend’s race at Watkins Glen International.

• At press time, the team had not announced any other information on Wood’s condition or plans for the first race of the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series playoffs on Aug. 30. Wood, competing in his first full-time season since 2022, currently sits 19th in points and is out of playoff contention.
• During last Friday’s Craftsman Truck Series race at Watkins Glen, Wood took a hard hit entering the esses on lap 36. Wood’s No. 91 truck went into the outside barrier, driver’s side first, after appearing to cut down a left front tire.
• Wood, a 24-year-old, is in his fourth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season and his second as a full-time driver. He joined MHR full-time after racing with Kyle Busch Motorsports part-time in 2023 and with MHR part-time last season. In 78 career starts, Wood has finished no better than seventh.
• MHR is the second team to withdraw an entry from this weekend’s Truck Series race after 73-year-old owner/driver Norm Benning withdrew his entry yesterday afternoon for an unknown reason.
