Bristol Motor Speedway will soon join the list of playable ballparks in San Diego Studio’s MLB The Show 25. The game announced via social media today that the 0.533-mile short track will be made available for play on Jul. 29.

• When Bristol Motor Speedway and MLB announced the inaugural Speedway Classic last fall, fans of both sports wondered if the short track turned temporary ballpark would be added in MLB The Show as a playable stadium. In the past, when MLB had games at special venues, such as Rickwood Field or the site of the film Field of Dreams, these ballparks were added to The Show.
• On Wednesday, MLB The Show confirmed that it is adding Bristol Motor Speedway to its list of playable stadiums in MLB The Show 25. Per the announcement video, the stadium model is very detailed and includes notable features of Bristol, including the massive Jumbotron.
• Bristol and the MLB announced the Speedway Classic on Aug. 2, 2024. The game, part of a long-running series of MLB games at unusual venues, will be played on Aug. 2 between the NL Central’s Cincinnati Reds and the NL East’s Atlanta Braves. The game will also be broadcast on FOX, meaning there is a chance that NASCAR on FOX mainstays, such as Mike Joy, Kevin Harvick, or Clint Bowyer, can make an appearance.
• This pairing is a match made in heaven. Bristol Motor Speedway has a history of hosting similar special sporting events, such as college football, NFL preseason games, and various motorsport events. Recently, track owner and CEO of Speedway Motorsports, Marcus Smith, claimed that he would like to put a roof over the track to host events like WrestleMania or UFC fights.
