Passing at Kansas, But Not For the Lead? | The Cutline

Kansas was supposed to deliver. Multi-groove, mile-and-a-half tracks are designed for battles, but instead, we got a race where clean air was king and the leader was untouchable. Whether it was Larson or Elliott up front, once they got that air, it was game over. And that’s left fans, drivers, and teams asking: what’s going wrong here?

  • Is the real problem dirty air or something deeper in the car design?
  • Why does passing for 10th matter if there’s no fight for the win?
  • Are teams figuring the car out too well and ruining the show?
  • Can NASCAR fix aero with just horsepower changes?

Fans aren’t tuning in for midfield scraps. They want to see drivers go wheel-to-wheel for the lead. But when even elite drivers can’t chase each other down, it’s more of a parade than a battle. If this is the future of Gen 7, we might be in trouble unless serious changes happen fast. What do you think? Are we heading toward a better racing product or stuck in a technical corner?
