What’s Happening?
Prior to the start of the first test session of the 2025 Xfinity Series, RSS Racing announced its lineup for the coming season. RSS will field both Sieg brothers full-time and one part-time entry in 2025.
- This will be the 11th full-time Xfinity Series season for Ryan Sieg, who is 37 years old. However, this will be the first full-time season for 23-year-old Kyle Sieg, who missed only two races in 2023 and 2024.
- The family-owned team has not announced driver numbers; however, in 2024, Ryan raced his usual No. 39, while Kyle ran the No. 28 in the majority of his starts. At the end of last season, the two swapped seats to help the team’s owner’s points position entering this season.
- One notable change the team will face this season is the loss of Blaine Perkins, who is moving to Jordan Anderson Racing’s No. 31. It appears his former No. 29 will be a part-time car; however, the team has not announced a driver and is waiting till “we have a driver with sponsorship.”
- Despite their underdog status, RSS regularly plays disruptor in the Xfinity Series. Ryan has made the Xfinity Series Playoffs three times but has yet to win his first race. Kyle has struggled in his part-time efforts the past four seasons; perhaps a full-time effort will improve his stats.
