What’s Happening?

FOX Sports Films and NASCAR Studios are releasing two new documentaries for the 2024 season. These documentaries will cover NASCAR’s return to Bowman Gray Stadium and the three-wide finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway last season.

  • Both documentaries will air on FS1 in the build-up to the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium and the 2025 Daytona 500. FOX has a history of creating short documentaries covering different topics of the sport, both historical and current.
  • The first documentary, “The Madhouse: Nascar’s Return to Bowman Gray Stadium,” will air on FS1 on Jan. 27 at 7:00 PM EST. NASCAR is returning to BGS for the first time since 1971 this season for the season-opening clash on Feb. 2. The trailer released by NASCAR suggests this documentary will cover the track’s history and how NASCAR is preparing it for its new era.
  • The second documentary is titled “So Damn Close: Atlanta ’24” and will cover the three-wide finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2024. This finish saw Daniel Suarez walk away with the win by 0.003, the fourth closest overall and closest three-wide finish in NASCAR history.
  • The most recent FOX NASCAR documentary was released last season. “I Am Kevin Harvick” covers the career of their new NASCAR Analyst and 2014 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, Kevin Harvick.
  • Fans generally enjoy these short documentaries and the stories they tell. FOX will occasionally air these during weather-delayed races as they await a decision from NASCAR on when or if a race will resume.
