There is a new rumor that Corey LaJoie could be heading to Amazon’s broadcast booth in 2025. This rumor follows a recent report from a NASCAR insider that LaJoie is no longer a candidate for a full-time Cup Series ride.
Corey LaJoie No Longer Top Candidate for Full-Time Cup Series Ride in 2025

What’s the Rumor?
On Thursday, the NASCAR rumor mill account nascarrumornostalgia posted another rumor on its Instagram account. The poster claims that former Spire Motorsports and Rick Ware Racing driver Corey LaJoie will have “some sort of analyst role with Amazon” along with a part-time ride in 2024.
LaJoie began the offseason tied to RWR’s No. 51. LaJoie finished the year out in the car following a “trade” after the Bristol night race. This driver swap saw Corey LaJoie head to RWR’s No. 51 while Justin Haley took over LaJoie’s No. 7. While there was no guarantee at the time that he would stick around, insiders expected him to be the driver in 2025.
LaJoie and the No. 51 appeared to be the combo for RWR until last week when Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports reported that he no longer believed LaJoie was a candidate for the No. 51 spot.
This is the only rumor about LaJoie’s future since then. As the season approaches, the veteran’s options are slimming down.
Is This Rumor Likely?
Fans should approach all rumors cautiously. This rumor has minimal implications for 2025 driver lineups, stating LaJoie would take on a part-time ride, but it does impact the rumored NASCAR booth for Prime Video.
Prime Video is one of NASCAR’s new TV partners for 2025. They have already announced that Adam Alexander, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Steve Letarte will be their broadcast team for 2025. While LaJoie has the personality and experience for the job, his spot on the broadcast team could be outside the role of “analyst” as the booth appears full.
As far as racing goes, LaJoie has stated that he has options. However, his chance for a full-time cup ride hinged entirely on RWR. This rumor claiming he has part-time starts makes sense, as there will be plenty of part-time entries in all NASCAR National Series this season.
If this rumor is true, an opportunity with Prime Video or even TNT Sports could be LaJoie’s way into a full-time broadcasting job. With Daytona just a few weeks away, this rumor has a short turnaround time to be proven true or false.
