What’s Happening?

A well-known NASCAR rumor mill account has revealed what they believe to be the 2025 Truck Series lineup. This lineup includes some predictable or previously announced additions and also the presence of one former champion that you need to know.

What’s the Rumor

This aforementioned Instagram rumor mill account is nascarrumornostalgia, which posted this rumor Tuesday afternoon. It claims that Spire’s 2024 entries will be the No. 7 and No. 07 trucks as “all-star” entries and that 2024 ARCA Menards Series Champion Andrés Pérez will pilot the No. 77.

Two portions of this rumor are already confirmed: Rajah Caruth is returning to his No. 71 after a successful freshman season with Spire, and 2024 driver of the No. 77, Chase Purdy, is out of a ride. Furthermore, the rumor about Perez and the No. 7 have been swirling around for some time.

While fans should approach any rumor with caution, nascarrumornostalgia has correct posted rumors in the past, but has also posted a handful of incorrect ones as well. Either way, this account has made a name for itself in NASCAR Silly Season circles.

How Likely Is This?

The rumor that No. 07 and No. 7 are all-star trucks is more than likely true because the team has historically entered all-star trucks in the series, specifically with the No. 7. However, the main focus of this rumor should be Pérez.

Pérez won the 2024 ARCA Menards Series championship by 41 points over Rev Racing teammate Lavar Scott. In his 20 starts, Pérez failed to win a races but had a 6.5 average finishing position, 10 top fives, and 17 top tens.

While Scott is allegedly returning to the team this season, Rev Racing has not announced Pérez will return in 2025, suggesting he could be heading to the Truck Series. In 2024, Pérez made his Truck Series debut with Spire at World Wide Technology Raceway, where he finished ninth, further connecting the dots to this rumor.

Rev also has an open seat for 2025, but this situation seems uncertain if the rumors hold true. Many anticipated Pérez would take over the No. 2 truck, yet the speculation suggests otherwise. Additionally, the rumor indicates that Kevin Manion, the No. 2 truck’s Crew Chief for 2024, will join Spire to work with Caruth next season, further complicating the outlook for the No. 2 truck’s future.
