• The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is the third tier of NASCAR’s National Touring Series. While the Truck Series is considered lower on the totem pole than the Xfinity Series, drivers jump straight up to the Cup Series after spending time in it.
• Many seats may not be open currently, but they may open depending on how Silly Season rolls on. Lower series seats are typically much more fluid than the upper series due to more part-time drivers and teams and the desire to move up to the Cup Series.
• Fans are watching the Truck Series very closely. While it is a lower series, fans want to see the stars of tomorrow jump up as quickly as possible.

TRICON Garage No. 11

With Corey Heim’s performance in the Truck Series, it’s only a matter of time before the No. 11 truck opens up at TRICON Garage. Whether that’s this year or not remains to be seen, but Heim is a definite candidate for the third 23XI Racing car, should they officially purchase a third charter.

As far as who could fill this seat, William Sawalich is an obvious candidate, provided Joe Gibbs Racing doesn’t swoop in and bring him in for the 2025 Xfinity Series season. Maybe Toni Breidinger could come in and race in this seat, too, but we will have to see.

McAnally-Hilgemann No. 19 and/or No. 91

McAnally-Hilgemann Racing has series points leader Christian Eckes as the team’s top driver. According to Bob Pockrass, Eckes is reportedly a candidate for the Front Row Motorsports Cup Series seat, and an “All-Star Truck” is still in the wings. Seats could open up.

Regarding who could slot into this seat, maybe Carson Kvapil could be one to watch. Given that he doesn’t bring much funding, having Napa Auto Parts alongside could help Kvapil. However, other Chevy divers like Conner Mosack and current Cup Series drivers Ryan Preece and Harrison Burton could be ones to watch.

Niece Motorsports No. 41 and/or No. 42 and/or No. 45

Niece Motorsports has struggled this season with Bayley Currey and Matt Mills racing full-time. However, the third car, the No. 45, has performed well. Ross Chastain won at Darlington, and Kaden Honeycutt has four top-10s in six starts.

Honeycutt could be a driver to watch on this team come 2025. Could he slot into the team full-time, or will Niece give Currey and Mills another opportunity? Maybe Trackhouse could put Zane Smith with this team, but that’s a big step down for Smith.

Spire Motorsports No. 77

While most Spire Motorsports drivers have done well this season, Chase Purdy has been a disappointment. He has an uphill battle to get into the Playoffs, and he drives the only Spire car not to win a race this season.

Like McAnally-Hilgemann, the Chevy prospects could be the ones to watch for this ride. Maybe Zane Smith could drop down to the Truck Series on loan from Trackhouse, but a lot would have to happen.
