If you watch the NASCAR Weekly Podcast (NWP) every Wednesday at 8 o’clock, then you would know that there is a driver in the truck series that Eric Estepp is positive that he’s going to be a future NASCAR Cup Series champion, and today on Out Of The Groove Eric Estepp has a one on one with that very driver, Corey Heim.
- Something that a champion must have in NASCAR is consistency and no one has shown more consistency through the chaos of the Truck Series than Corey Heim. Do you think having that much experience with caution-filled races and late race restarts will help him in the Cup Series?
- Corey Heim’s first Cup Series race was at one of the hardest tracks, the Monster Mile, and going from your usual 200-mile to a 400-mile race on short notice sounds like it can be very physically and mentally exhausting. What do you think affected Corey Heim more in his first Cup Series start?
- More and more we see drivers move straight from the Truck Series to the Cup Series and this is very rare to how it’s usually done, but this could be because of all the similarities that the Cup car has to the Truck. Do you like seeing drivers move straight from the Truck Series or should they have some Xfinity Series experience?
What do you think makes a superstar? Do you think Cory Heim is a future champion? What are your expectations for the finish in Kansas? Let Eric know all of your thoughts and questions in the comment section.
