Homestead-Miami Speedway Weather History
Homestead-Miami Speedway has had adverse weather conditions affect race weekends before. Most recently in 2020, persistent lightning delays forced the Dixie Vodka 400, a race supposed to be run during the day, into a finish under the lights. Denny Hamlin took home his 40th career win.
The most prominent weather delay in the history of the speedway came in 2011 when rain stopped the Ford 400 twice. The second rain delay set up the iconic final restart where Tony Stewart took the lead on a three-wide move past Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski. Stewart would win his third NASCAR Cup Series Championship.
Will the weather bring more havoc to Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend? We will have to find out this weekend as the Round of 8 continues.
