Rajah Caruth is one of the lower-tier series’ most intriguing free agents. With GMS Racing shutting down, Caruth’s options are wide open for 2024, and he has had an interesting career to this point. Here are the best moments of Caruth’s career to this point.
In 2021, while Rajah Caruth was in the midst of his first career season in the ARCA Menards East Series, he participated in the Shore Lunch 150 at Iowa, an ARCA Menards Series race. At the age of 19, Caruth qualified 12th in a 23-car field, and he kept his nose clean all day, finishing in ninth on the lead lap. He would go on to race four more times that season, and he would finish in the top 10 three more times.
In 2022, Caruth ran the full ARCA Menards Series schedule, and he went on to finish a solid third in the points. His best race came at Kansas Speedway in the Dutch Boy 150, as he went toe to toe with teammate Nick Sanchez.
Sanchez would get the better of Caruth on this day, but second place was Caruth’s best finish in his ARCA Menards Series career.
Later in 2022, Spire Motorsports tabbed Caruth to run in the Truck Series at World Wide Technology Raceway. It was not quite the same debut as he had in ARCA, but he still impressed. Caruth qualified 19th, and he would finish a solid 11th on the lead lap.
His performance on this day, along with his ARCA performance, netted him a full-time Truck Series ride in 2023.
The beginning of the 2023 season was difficult for Caruth, but a solid day awaited him at Darlington Raceway. A 13th-place qualifying effort tied for his best of the season at that time, and the 24 truck overcame a rash of cautions late in the race to finish a solid sixth. It is his best finish in the Craftsman Truck Series in his career.
The night may not have ended like he wanted to, but the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville was a night of firsts. He got his first top-3 qualifying effort by qualifying in third, and he went on to lead his first lap in the Truck Series later that night as well.
His day was done in by mechanical failures, but it was a taste of the front of the pack for Caruth.

After a clean but eventful Stage 1 was in the books, we got our first caution for incident on Lap 81. Fresh off the stage break, the aggression was still amped up. What triggered this incident in particular was Christopher Bell’s headful of steam juking below Josh Berry as they raced down the backstretch. Berry, not expecting to go 4 wide into the corner, lifted. Subsequently, he clipped the rear bumper of Ty Gibbs. This sent both Berry and Gibbs hard into the outside SAFER barrier.
