History of Weather at New Hampshire
New Hampshire has never had a race postponed to Monday due to rain, but it has had five races in its’ history be shortened by rain. Joey Logano won his first career race in a rain shortened event on June 28, 2009, after the rain came through with 35 laps to go.
Another rain-related moment at New Hampshire came in 2021. Rain started pelting the track during the opening laps, and race leaders Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., and Denny Hamlin all wrecked. The race went into a red flag, and it was shortened by eight laps due to impending darkness.
Weather impacting New Hampshire races is not a new thing. Unfortunately, this may be another weekend where that is the case.
