Real-life NASCAR drivers and sim racers alike converged on Groovy Hollow Raceway to see who would be the last driver standing. After the Puppet Master eliminated drivers following 30 lap segments, David Schildhouse took the lead on the final restart to take home the Groovy Hollow win for the second year in a row. He took advantage of contact on the final restart between Parker Retzlaff and Matt Stallknecht, and that was the race.
The win was Schildhouse’s second consecutive win at Groovy Hollow Raceway. He took home the win in 2022 at the superspeedway of Daytona International Speedway. He gave his thoughts on what he saw on the final restart.
I was thinking, Sick! We’re going back to back baby in Groovy Hollow and that’s exactly what we did! I don’t know what happened between those guys, but I will take every opportunity I have to win these things whether it was on pure speed or racing luck or a little bit of racing luck or whatever it is, I’ll take it either way.
David Schildhouse
As for the race within the race, the 66 Fort Worth Screen Printing car driven by Jon Garrett won the paint scheme contest. Garrett took this scheme to a 9th-place finish.
The event had all proceeds go towards Extra Life, a program of the Children’s Miracle Hospital Network. $1500 was raised for charity thanks to the donations of viewers.
Thank you to Extra Life, Podium e-Sports, Eric Estepp, and everyone who participated in the race!
