- The Most Popular Driver Award is one of the most highly respected titles handed down each year by NASCAR. Since its introduction for the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series season in 1949, Champions, Crown Jewel Winners, and Hall of Famers have all taken home the crown across NASCAR’s top series.
- Voting for the 2025 NMPA Most Popular Driver Award is open on NASCAR.com, and fans can vote up to five times per day across the three NASCAR National Series. Unlike other awards, this one is not based on statistics and is a straight-up popularity contest, which has made it one of the hardest awards to win.
- In 2025, NASCAR crowned only one new Most Popular Driver across its three NASCAR National Series, with Spire Motorsports’ Rajah Caruth winning Truck Series honors. NASCAR’s top two series saw repeat winners last season; Justin Allgaier won Xfinity Series honors, and Chase Elliott took home Cup Series honors.
- For Allgaier, his win was his second in a row and fifth of his career, making him the all-time leader in NASCAR Xfinity Series MPD Award wins. Elliott’s win was his seventh in a row, ninth across NASCAR’s National Series, and this year, he hopes to break a tie with Bobby Allison for Cup Series MPD awards and a tie with Richard Petty for National Series MPD awards.
