What’s Happening?

The official 2026 NASCAR National Series schedules are out, and there are quite a few notable changes for all three series. New and returning venues are notable additions to the schedule, while major subtractions account for the bulk of the changes. Here’s everything you need to know.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Notes

The Craftsman Truck Series will remove multiple tracks from its schedule next season, including the Spring race at Martinsville Speedway, and the series-only events at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Pocono Raceway.

But for the Truck Series, the additions far outweigh the subtractions. This includes the addition of a race during NASCAR All-Star Weekend at Dover Motor Speedway and a return to the West Coast, joining the OAP and Cup Series at Naval Base Coronado for the second street race in Truck Series history.

That’s because, in perhaps the most notable move of all, the Trucks join the NTT IndyCar Series on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla, on Feb. 28. This is not the first time that the Truck Series and IndyCar Series have shared a weekend, as the two often shared a Texas Motor Speedway race weekend during the 2000s and 2010s.

The Trucks also see their Darlington race weekend shift to the spring, making NASCAR’s throwback weekend a triple header once again, while Kansas moves to the fall.

All three series shift Homestead-Miami Speedway to the season finale, with Phoenix Raceway shifting to the Oct. 16-18 race weekend.

NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Notes

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series adds only one new race to its lineup, joining the tripleheader weekend at Naval Base Coronado in June. The series will also add two familiar tracks, joining the Cup Series at Chicagoland Speedway in July and adding a second race date at Darlington in the fall.

To make this shift, the series is removing the races at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City and the Chicago Street Race, much like the Cup Series. But, to add the Darlington weekend, the series will not return to Portland International Raceway.

The Series will also shift its Kansas Speedway race weekend to the spring in an exchange with the Truck Series.

All three series shift Homestead-Miami Speedway to the season finale, with Phoenix Raceway shifting to the Oct. 16-18 race weekend.

NASCAR Cup Series Notes

In 2026 the NASCAR Cup Series will lose its race dates at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and the Chicago Street Race, and most importantly, it will lose a points race at Dover Motor Speedway, which now takes over the All-Star Race.

To make up for these lost dates, the Cup Series joins the Trucks and Xfinity Series at Naval Base Coronado, which takes Pocono’s spot on the calendar while the tricky triangle moves to Mexico City’s spot. Chicagoland Speedway takes over NASCAR’s Fourth of July slot for the Chicago Street Race, and North Wilkesboro Speedway takes over Dover’s points race for 2026.

Several tracks are changing weekends as well, but a few key dates will see shake-ups in 2026. New Hampshire moves out of the playoffs for Homestead-Miami Speedway, which will be the finale for at least one season. Watkins Glen International scraps its normal fall date for a race in May, while an additional off weekend has been added in August.

All three series shift Homestead-Miami Speedway to the season finale, with Phoenix Raceway shifting to the Oct. 16-18 race weekend.
