What’s Happening?
Sam Hunt Racing and Jeffery Earnhardt have joined forces again; for now, the Xfinity Series veteran’s schedule looks to be two races. This will be Earnhardt’s third and fourth races for the team this season.
- Jeffery Earnhardt, son of Kerry Earnhardt and grandson of Dale Earnhardt Sr., has raced in NASCAR’s National Series since 2009. Last season, he was supposed to race a full 33-race season for Alpha Prime Racing but only ran 24 races for the team.
- Earnhardt, now 35, has run a part-time Xfinity Series schedule with Sam Hunt Racing this season, first at Atlanta, then at Talladega, finishing eighth at the latter. The pair of driver and team have a history together before this season, with Earnhardt racing nine races for the team in 2022, including a seventh-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway.
- At the Xfinity level, Earnhardt has started a combined 15 races at Michigan and Phoenix. At Michigan, he has an average finish of 27.4 and a best finish of 23rd in five starts. Similarly, Earnhardt has an average finish of 28.4 at Phoenix, finishing a career-best 19th in 2021 for JD Motorsports.
