What’s Happening?
Second-generation racer and fan favorite racer Ryan Truex is getting back behind the wheel this weekend and is looking for a three-peat at his home track with a special sponsor.
After competing back-to-back with Joe Gibbs Racing at Dover in 2023 and 2024, Ryan Truex is entering this weekend’s race hoping to take fellow Toyota team Sam Hunt Racing to victory lane for the first time.
As the closest NASCAR track to his hometown of Mayetta, New Jersey, racing at Dover is special for the 33-year-old, and a new partnership makes that all the more special for the veteran racer.

This weekend, Truex will carry sponsorship from the New Jersey State Police and the Troopers United Foundation. TUF is a non-profit organization made up of New Jersey State Police Officers supporting first responders and their families during difficult times alongside community outreach efforts.
During an interview with Out of the Groove’s Eric Estepp, Andrew Silipino, President of the Troopers United Foundation, said he was excited to have a driver who is a “perfect fit” behind the wheel of the No. 24, but also looks forward to the opportunity to spread the message about the New Jersey State Police and TUF.
“We’re here to get our message out as well, so we can support those who are in need and all the first responders and their families who are going through some tough times,” Silipino said. To learn more or support the Troopers United Foundation, make sure to visit their website, troopersunited.org.
Truex’s 2025 Season
This will be Truex’s second Xfinity Series start of the season, having most recently raced with SHR at Daytona in February, where he finished 17th.
After failing to find a full-time ride despite a career-high two wins in 11 Xfinity Series starts last season, the younger brother of former NASCAR Cup Series Champion Martin Truex Jr. took on the role of reserve driver for Joe Gibbs Racing.
This role has resulted in Truex making his first NASCAR Cup Series start since 2014, filling in for Denny Hamlin at Mexico City following the birth of Hamlin’s son.
