Grant Enfinger’s 2024 plans have been the topic of many conversations, and a potential landing spot has popped up. Sources tell the Daily Downforce that the current most likely landing spot for Enfinger is with Codie Rohrbaugh and CR7 Motorsports. What potentially could be going into this move, and how could this work out for Grant Enfinger?

What is CR7 Motorsports?

CR7 Motorsports is owned by Codie Rohrbaugh, and it was started in 2016. Initially, Rohrbaugh, a Petersburg, West Virginia, native, was the primary driver. He drove for the team in ARCA and the Craftsman Truck Series from 2016 until 2021.

It was never a full-time effort, but Rohrbaugh had some success. His best finish in the Truck Series was a third-place effort in the season-opening race at Daytona in 2020. While CR7 continues to run a part-time schedule in ARCA, they eventually worked their way up to full-time Truck Series competition.

In 2021, the team entered 20 races with a combination of Rohrbaugh, Grant Enfinger, and Colby Howard. In 2022, Blaine Perkins became the team’s first full-time driver, but the team struggled with only one top-20 finish. In 2023, Howard joined the team full-time with a best finish of fourth at Daytona, but, he will not be returning to the team in 2024. This is a team that has been a top-5 team at their best, but they have not been able to do so consistently.

Why Would Enfinger Go There?

Enfinger already has a previous relationship with CR7. As previously mentioned, Enfinger raced with the team back in 2021 in the Truck Series. Enfinger was moved to a part-time role with Mike Curb in 2021, so, he filled out his schedule with CR7.

He had the best season out of any driver with CR7 in 2021. In only 9 races, he had 1 top-5 and 3 top-10s with two 7th place finishes at Las Vegas and 4th place at Circuit of the Americas. He also raced for the team in ARCA this year with top-5 finishes at Charlotte and Milwaukee.

The relationship is there, and he has performed well when he has run with the team. This could be the move that allows CR7 to take that next step. Enfinger can run well with the team, and he has proven that based on his performances with the race team.

Could Enfinger to CR7 actually happen? How will Enfinger perform should this move happen, and could he take the team to the next level?
