Recapping Austin Dillon’s WILD NASCAR Win At Richmond

It may be hard to remember the entire race yesterday after the disaster on the final lap. With NASCAR trying out an experimental tire program, there were a lot of expectations heading into this weekend, so luckily for us, we have Brake Hard here to break down whether this race was actually good or not.

• This was the first regular-season race in the NASCAR Cup Series to experiment with an option tire. This tire gave us a different strategy and an opportunity for the next-gen cars to make passes on a short track. What track would you like to see these option tires used next?
• Midway through Sunday’s race, Kyle Busch had to adjust the wrap on his sprained wrist. Was seeing Kyle Busch handle sharp scissors and figure out his problem one of the most impressive things we’ve seen from him this year?
• In the final lap of this week’s Richmond race, Austin Dillon blew through the corner to spin out Joey Logano, and then, on his way back down the track, he right hooks Denny Hamlin into the wall. Do you think he should be penalized for this?
