There truly is nothing like going to a NASCAR race. Some races tend to stand out amongst others, particularly if you have been to multiple races. We asked our Daily Downforce readers what their favorite NASCAR race they have been to is, and they chose some classics.

Some races chosen were simply great races in NASCAR history. Others were chosen for more sentimental reasons. Maybe it was a fan’s first race, or it was their first introduction to a sport. Others were happy to see their favorite driver win for the first time.

With that in mind, which races did these fans pick? Some of these are races you may remember.

In the Stands

Kevin Hall with an awesome story about working his way up in the sport.

As a Jeff Gordon fan, I wish I was there.

There is nothing quite like seeing your favorite driver win in person.

I was there too, and man was that race incredible to watch live.

I was at this race too. It was wet, but man did the race make up for it.

Many NASCAR fans wish they were there that day. Truly one of the most important and exciting races in NASCAR history.

No need to explain Jacob Morgan. The 2013 Auto Club 400 was the first truly great race with the Gen-6 race car. Maybe a surprise to some given the previous year’s race was not great.

Two maybe somewhat forgotten great races in recent history. The 2017 Brickyard 400 was won by Kasey Kahne after a Jimmie Johnson three-wide pass for the lead failed while he was blowing up amongst other crazy things. The 2021 Martinsville race was where the term “Hack” entered the NASCAR garage.

This was exactly four years after Earnhardt Jr. had won his previous race. One of the most emotional wins of any driver’s career.

Talk about a blast from the past! The inaugural race at Texas Motor Speedway in 1997 won by Jeff Burton.

It’s tough to beat being in the pits for the Southern 500 at Darlington. Also, the race at North Wilkesboro in 1989 was maybe the best race in the history of North Wilkesboro Speedway.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. with a bucket list win. He got himself his first grandfather clock at Martinsville in 2014. Arguably the best track for Hendrick Motorsports.

Does Johnny believe that Dale Earnhardt only meant to “Rattle his cage”?

The 2019 “Night Race” at Bristol. Matt DiBenedetto never came any closer to winning a Cup Series race. It’s hard to argue with the Night Race at Bristol in any instance.

Maybe a forgotten race, but a great race regardless.

An exciting NASCAR race makes for some great memory making. Sometimes a great race can make a new race fan or just add to a lifelong fandom. Every race makes some incredible memories for somebody.
