Nine-time Olympic Gold Medalist Caeleb Dressel will serve as honorary event official for the upcoming Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, Aug. 25.

Dressel is fresh off his performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he won two Gold medals and one Silver, returning to the United States with three more Olympic medals to add to his collection. He is one of the most decorated swimmers in Olympic history with 10 Olympic medals, nine of which are Gold.

“After his triumphant return to the Olympic stage this summer, we’re eager to welcome Caeleb Dressel to the World Center of Racing for the Coke Zero Sugar 400,” said Frank Kelleher President of Daytona international Speedway. “With Dressel being a native of Florida and graduate of the University of Florida, we couldn’t be prouder to welcome him back home as an Olympic champion and have him join us here at Daytona for one of our biggest events of the year.”

Dressel is an alum of the University of Florida and native of the sunshine state, growing up just a few miles down the road from Daytona in Green Cove Springs, Fla. Throughout his Olympic career, Dressel has racked up an impressive Olympic medal count after competing in the Rio de Janeiro (2016), Tokyo (2020) and Paris (2024) Olympics. The Team Toyota athlete also holds the world records for 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m individual medley and 4x100m medley relay.

Fans can cheer on Dressel’s Olympic success right alongside all their favorite drivers during the upcoming NASCAR race weekend at Daytona International Speedway. The weekend begins on Friday, Aug. 23 with the NASCAR Xfinity Series Wawa 250 Powered by Coca Cola.

Then, on Saturday, Aug. 24, just after a pre-race show from rock band Lit, drivers will take center stage at the historic 2.5-mile trioval in the NASCAR Cup Series Coke Zero Sugar 400, battling it out for those final Playoffs spots in the penultimate race of the 2024 NASCAR regular season.
