NASCAR Team Returns to the Truck Series for the First Time in Over a Year

What’s Happening?

Motorsports Business Management, owned by Carl Long, is returning to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the first time since 2024. The team announced Thursday afternoon that Tyler Tomassi will pilot their entry at Pocono Raceway on Friday, June 20.

• Throughout its history, MBM Motorsports has only entered two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races, one in 2014 and another in 2024. In their most recent outing, the 2024 North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Jeffery Earnhardt piloted the No. 67 truck to a 35th-place finish.
• Though this will be their first Truck Series race since May 24, 2024, MBM Motorsports has continued to make sporadic starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and, under the name Garage 66, in the NASCAR Cup Series. In their upcoming return to the series at Pocono Raceway, the team is bringing on Tyler Tomassi to drive their yet-to-be-numbered Ford F-150.
• The 22-year-old Tomassi has five career Craftsman Truck Series starts, including three this season with Reaume Brothers Racing. In his five starts, Tomassi has finished no better than 21st, and has yet to make a start on a track longer than 1.33 miles. Sitting at 2.5 miles, Pocono will be by far the largest track Tomassi has raced on in his young NASCAR National Series career.
• However, the team mentions in their release that Tomassi is not the long-term driver of their Truck Series entry, with plans to bring on board Derek White once the driver regains “his clearance to race on tracks 1.5 miles in length and larger.” White has also made a start with Reaume Brothers Racing this season, finishing 33rd in their No. 2 truck at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
