- The circuit includes 16 turns and multiple lengthy straightaways, mostly running along the outer perimeter of the base. Coronado’s 3.4-mile layout is massive in scale compared to NASCAR’s Chicago Street Circuit, which measures just 2.2 miles with 12 turns.
- The track also features several named areas, including what NASCAR is dubbing “Carrier Corner,” which will feature two aircraft carriers in the backdrop. Another one, “Runway Road,” sits between the exit of turn 12 and the entry of turn 13, and utilizes a portion of the base’s tarmac.
- San Diego is flanked by returning tracks, including Chicagoland Speedway and North Wilkesboro Speedway, as new additions to the 2026 Cup Series schedule. However, the street circuit is the only one of the three tracks to have never hosted a Cup Series date before. It replaced Mexico City’s race weekend on the NASCAR calendar.
- The San Diego race weekend is set for June 19-21, with all three NASCAR National Series competing during the weekend, a first for a NASCAR street race. For more information on the San Diego Street Race, make sure to check out our in-depth article linked below.
