Drivers
Though NASCAR is one of the most heated sports in the world, its competitors treat each other as a traveling family. Since this tragic fire, many of Denny Hamlin’s on-track rivals, such as Kyle Larson, and several who have rarely, if ever, raced against Hamlin, like those in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, have shared their feeling during this tragic time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hamlin family and their loved ones 🙏

Fans
The love for the Hamlin’s has not stopped with those who may have known them in the community, with fans stepping in to pay their respects as well. Many have remembered the sacrifices that Dennis made to make Denny one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history, with Harper Lucas sharing a clip of legendary driver and broadcaster Benny Parsons sharing how Hamlin finally worked his way into a full-time late model ride.
I believe Denny Hamlin posted this after Vegas, but here is a clip of the late great Benny Parsons talking about Hamlin’s story in 2006. Dennis Hamlin and Mary Lou sacrificed nearly everything for their son to make it to NASCAR. God rest Dennis Hamlin. #NASCAR #dennyhamlin pic.twitter.com/cCFZhdzXzl

Many NASCAR fans are finding other ways to memorialize Dennis, such as donating to the Denny Hamlin Foundation, which helps donate money to organizations in children’s health, such as the Children’s Hospital of Richmond and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, for research and awareness for health issues like Cystic Fibrosis. A post on the r/NASCAR subreddit encouraging fans to donate to the foundation is currently one of the most upvoted posts on the page.
