Michael Klein Drops Out of Indy ARCA Race

What’s Happening?

In a turn of events, voice actor Michael Klein has opted not to run the ARCA race at Indianapolis Raceway Park later this month. Klein has long dreamed of being a racecar driver and had taken the appropriate steps to make his ARCA debut. However, in the lengthy post posted today to his Bluesky account he revealed that he was dropping out of the race to focus on his battle with his mental health.

• Klein has been open about battling mental health issues in the past. He is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. In his post, he alluded to these struggles and said that he made the decision at the suggestion of his doctor.
• Klein was to drive the number 0 car for Wayne Peterson Racing. He had experience in the local racing scene, driving late models and legend cars on the grassroots level. In his post, he indicated that he would still be around the garage area from time to time. To what capacity is unknown. However, he still plans to run local races throughout the remainder of the year.
• Klein, from Cincinnati, Ohio, is an accomplished voice actor and LGBTQ+ activist. He has had the acting bug from an early age, growing up in a family that was very involved in the world of theater. Klein decided to pursue acting seriously in his mid-20s. Since then, he has appeared in several indie animated films and shorts, including Sarah and Zach, A Witch Cries, So Comes the End, and Meet the Yennies. He has also lent his voice to some indie videogame productions.
• He made his sprint car debut in 2023. Later that year, he was granted the opportunity to test an ARCA Menards Series car at Hickory Motor Speedway.
