What’s Happening?

Matt DiBenedetto announced on Thursday that he will race full-time for Viking Motorsports for the remainder of the 2024 Xfinity Series season. This comes after a wild offseason and starting the 2024 season without any ride at any level of NASCAR.

  • Matt DiBenedetto joined Viking Motorsports for the first time at Richmond back in March. He originally signed a 5-race deal with the team, but, after solid performances in his first 5 appearances, he now has a full-time ride.
  • Viking Motorsports is owned by SciAps CEO Don Sackett. The team struggled early in 2024, failing to qualify for 2 of their first four races. They function in a technical alliance with RSS Racing, which is owned by the Sieg family.
  • Fans are happy to see DiBenedetto have a full-time ride for 2024. Now, he has a chance to show what he can do for the rest of the season, and he will be on the track every week.
