What’s Happening?
NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin has stepped into the world of podcasting with the long-awaited first episode of the Mark Martin Archive Podcast.
NASCAR legend Mark Martin has made a name for himself over the past year as one of the most outspoken members of NASCAR’s base of alumni.
Slowly throughout 2025, Martin would air his grievances and dish out some levels of praise to the sport’s upper brass on a number of issues, including the NASCAR Next Gen Car, number placement, and even how some drivers race on track.
Though if there was one issue that Martin took to heart, it was NASCAR’s Playoff format and his utter disdain for the system, which, throughout the 2025 season, was under review by NASCAR and a committee of industry members that included Martin.
Disliking the playoffs is one thing, as there are drivers in the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and on the grid week to week, that would like to see the playoffs go by the way side. But Martin saw his status as one of NASCAR’s greatest drivers as justification for him to take a bolder stance in advocating against the points system.

His podcast is also just one of a handful of projects Martin is currently working on. These include personal projects, like a new custom-built motorcoach, and another media project, his upcoming book titled Never Lift, which will be out this summer.
