Bill Weber, known for his time as a NASCAR broadcaster, has passed away. During his career, Weber worked for ESPN, NBC Sports and TNT Sports. Though announced Monday, Weber passed away on Dec. 13, he was 67.

  • Weber was a key on-screen personality during NASCAR’s first major media deal, which began in 2001. When NASCAR was at its peak, he served as a host, pit reporter, and lap-by-lap announcer with NBC Sports and TNT Sports.
  • Prior to this period, Weber also found himself a part of a significant portion of NASCAR history. Working for ESPN, Weber was a major contributor to the fan-favorite show RPM 2Night on ESPN.
  • Weber also played a major role in the final scenes of the 2006 film Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. These scenes saw Weber, alongside his iconic NASCAR on NBC booth of Benny Parsons and Wally Dallenbach, call the final race of the movie.
  • While Weber was not a part of NASCAR broadcasts for the better part of a decade, his work is well remembered by fans. Following the announcement of his passing, fans posted highlights of his career, such as his call of Tony Stewart’s emotional win at the Brickyard in 2005.
